How to Prepare Artwork for Custom T-shirt Printing
Prepare PNG, JPG or WebP artwork up to 12 MB. Check transparency, pixels and print size; the current studio has no automatic DPI checker.
Use the original artwork file
Use an original export rather than a screenshot or an image copied from a message thread. The Design Studio accepts PNG, JPG and WebP images up to 12 MB each. SVG upload is currently unsupported.
- Use transparent PNG for isolated logos or graphics when no background should print. JPG does not carry transparency.
- Crop unnecessary empty space and check that any visible background is intentional.
- Uploaded PNG and JPG source files are retained for the order. WebP is converted to PNG for handoff, with its longest edge limited to 2400 pixels; keep your original high-resolution file.
Pixel dimensions need a physical print size
Effective PPI is the number of image pixels divided by the printed length in inches. For example, 2400 pixels across an 8-inch print equals 300 PPI; the same width printed at 16 inches equals 150 PPI. These are arithmetic examples, not approved print sizes or a print-quality guarantee.
- Changing a file’s DPI label does not add image detail. Upscaling does not recover missing detail.
- PPI describes image detail at a physical size; printer DPI describes device output. They are not interchangeable quality guarantees.
- The current CrewGleam studio has no automatic DPI checker and does not approve production resolution from the on-screen size slider. Ask support about the intended print size if unsure.
Review placement and preview boundaries
Place artwork on Front, Back, Left sleeve or Right sleeve. Drag and resize it on each view, then inspect the four-angle preview. Artwork outside the garment silhouette is hidden in the preview; this visual mask is not a measured printable-area approval.
- Keep important text and details away from edges and seams; confirm uncertain placements before ordering.
- Review spelling, colors, garment, size quantities and each artwork location before adding the design to the cart.
- The first standard artwork location is included, and up to five artwork elements can be added. The current price count follows those elements, including more than one on the same view.
The preview supports human production review
The saved source artwork, garment preview and placement information provide a handoff for human production review. A mockup is not an automated printability approval or a production master.
- Design files are sent to CrewGleam when the design is added to the cart, then referenced by the order.
- The website does not automatically generate a RIP file or a CMYK+W1 production master.
- Contact support@crewgleam.com before ordering if resolution, physical size or a difficult placement needs clarification.
